Evidence & scope

Understand the difference between observed operation, simulator qualification, published production approval and evidence still needed.

Discovery success does not generalize beyond the proven model, firmware, hardware variant, transport and capabilities. Unknown scope is not a wildcard. Registration does not grant production activation.

Reading the coverage register…

Read the evidence, then the scope

Production-verified01

Real-device operating evidence has been reviewed and its commercial scope published. Reuse still requires an exact model and compatibility match.

Simulator-qualified02

Synthetic traffic has qualified a bounded decode path. This does not establish physical-device behavior, production activation or commercial support.

Discovery only03

Findings may exist for a device or session. Acceptance of a bounded discovery profile is separate from model qualification, runtime validation and commercial approval. Private findings are not published here.

No published qualification04

The model may be known and a device may already be operating. The public register has no published qualifying scope. This does not mean that the device has never worked.

“Discovery only” describes a stage. Its count is not inferred from the public register, and private discovery sessions are not exposed.

From discovery to commercial support

01

Isolated discovery

Retain source identity, frames and evidence in a private review path.

02

Model qualification

Pin manufacturer, model, firmware, hardware variant, transport and tested capabilities.

03

Integration review

Review an immutable integration version, its accepted capabilities and explicit limitations.

04

Real-device validation

Prove behavior on physical hardware using the same integration version and accepted capabilities.

05

Publish support scope

Publish only reviewed commercial scope, excluding private customer evidence.

06

Match and activate

Check each device against the proven scope and complete its separate activation decision.

What must match?

Manufacturer, model, firmware, hardware variant, transport, integration version, accepted capabilities and limitations. Unknown values stay unknown and never become wildcard coverage. The public register is display-only and does not grant activation.
