# EdgeIOT — Protocol & device support request

This is a blank preparation template. Downloading or completing it does not submit a case or grant support. Submit the completed text through your authenticated device onboarding case:
https://app.dev.edgeiot.online/en/device-onboarding

The current case workflow requires a registered device you own. Text documentation is limited to 32 KB per submission. Keep this completed file within that limit. Describe larger PDF, PCAP or binary materials so a suitable transfer channel can be arranged during review; do not embed binary data here.

## 1. Organization & contact
- Organization:
- Website:
- Contact name, role and business email:
- Relationship to manufacturer (manufacturer / authorized distributor / integrator / device owner / other):
- Confidentiality or licensing restrictions:
- Confirmation that your organization is authorized to share these materials:

## 2. Requested use case
- Intended application:
- Required capabilities and expected outcomes:
- Optional capabilities:
- Expected reporting interval and continuity requirements:
- Known limitations:

## 3. Exact device scope — repeat for EACH model/version
- Manufacturer:
- Exact model:
- Hardware variant (or UNKNOWN):
- Firmware version (or UNKNOWN):
- Protocol name and version (or UNKNOWN):
- Transport used by this device:
- Encoding (binary / ASCII / JSON / other / UNKNOWN):
- Test device reference, provided only inside the private case:
- Is this a physical device, simulator or documentation-only proposal?
- Can a physical device or remote test session be made available?

Different models, firmware or hardware variants must remain separate scopes. UNKNOWN is not a wildcard. Do not infer model qualification from a shared protocol or parser.

## 4. Documentation register — repeat for EACH reference
- Document title:
- Official publisher and reference URL (without credentials or access tokens):
- Version and publication date:
- Applicable models and firmware:
- Relevant sections or pages:
- Brief technical excerpt or explanation:
- File type and size, if a separate transfer is needed:
- Redistribution or confidentiality restrictions:

Include, where available: connection behavior, device identification, packet boundaries and lengths, byte order, checksum, timestamps, scaling, units, heartbeat, ACK, retry behavior, commands and error handling. Manufacturer feature claims remain claims until verified.

## 5. Sample register — repeat for EACH sample
- Sample reference:
- Origin: PHYSICAL_DEVICE / SIMULATOR / DOCUMENTATION_EXAMPLE / UNKNOWN
- Device model, firmware and hardware variant:
- Capture timestamp and timezone:
- Transport and message direction:
- Protocol/document version:
- Trigger or test condition:
- Raw bytes as hex, or raw text (retain message boundaries):
```
[insert sample here; no fabricated sample is supplied by this template]
```
- Expected decoded values and units:
- Independent source or method used to verify those values:
- Expected ACK/response and observed response, if applicable:
- Related sample references (handshake, heartbeat, event, reconnect, etc.):
- Redactions and their effect on validation:
- Remaining uncertainty:

Keep real-device, simulated and illustrative samples explicitly distinct. A vendor document or a simulator output is not a physical-device receipt. Do not include passwords, keys or unnecessary customer data.

## 6. Test availability & open questions
- Representative operating conditions available for testing:
- Missing documentation or samples:
- Engineering questions:
- Proposed next evidence to collect:
- Larger-file inventory needing a private transfer channel:

## Review boundary
Submission starts evidence review. It does not automatically establish model qualification, production verification, commercial support, catalog publication or device activation. Reviewed results apply only to the proven manufacturer, model, firmware, hardware variant, transport and capabilities. Published support scope is maintained separately in the shared EdgeIOT coverage register:
